Wow. I'm supposed to be finishing up a final paper for school but instead I'm here at this website crying.
I bought Martyn's album 'Grit' in 2003 from a radio interview; it was love at first listen.
Tonight, in order to have the intensity, the rhythm, the heart, the GRIT to finish this paper, I put in Martyn's album.
And then swung by the website where I read the news... Music touches lives and hearts, and Martyn made music his life and surely touched many many people's hearts.

Track 4- Nae Regrets, eh?

It's been a week since I was introduced to Martyn Bennett's music. Sadly enough it was at the same time I've learned about his premature passing. Couldn't imagine that somebody could ever mix two of my music loves [techno and scottish folk] with so much talent and grace turning it into such exciting and beautiful music.

Peace.

I have followed Martyn's music since I was introduced to Bothy Culture by a friend of mine. His music has brought me many happy times and I am so sorry to hear of his death.

As a proud Scot I adored the new tilt that he put to our traditional music. A fantastic memory I have is when driving through the highlands with my wife, "Hallaig" was on the cd and it seemed to fit the scenery perfectly.

The Album Grit with the song "Liberation" inspired me through a difficult time in my life.

May you rest in peace and God hold you in his memory. I will miss you.

At Martyn Bennett Day at Celtic Connections in January there was mention of the 'Martyn Bennett Tunebook' being released. We were not sure whether this was to be a book or a CD of Martyn's music. Is there any news on this?

Thank you Martyn for breathing new life into our heritage. Your music is inspired & was our travelling companion on our most recent visit to Mull, Iona & Ulva. Sight, sound & senses were united wonderfully.

I heard Donald Shaws new programme on B.B.C. Scotland last week [Traditional Roots] via the internet, [I live in Norfolk].
I liked the Dolphin Boy remix he played and ordered "Mackays Memoirs" from Footstompin Music, I was completely" taken aback" by the main piece and un-prepared for the emotional response it triggered, I to love the Highlands and thank Martyn for his wonderful music which will live on, forever, Thank you.
